Nilesh Krishnaa’s Annapoorani, starring ‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara and Jai in the lead roles, is gearing up for release this week. Judging by its trailer, the film follows the journey of an aspiring chef as she strives to overcome challenges.

In pursuit of her passion, Annapoorani (Nayanthara) decides to participate in the reality show India’s Best Chef. Despite her mother’s cautionary advice that not everyone playing cricket on the streets becomes Sachin Tendulkar or working as a bus conductor turns into superstar Rajinikanth, Annapoorani persists in chasing her dream.

Annapoorani confidently asserts, “If everyone gets to pursue what they love, not just one person but the entire lot can be labelled superstars”. While leading her family to believe she is pursuing an MBA, Annapoorani secretly enrolls in an institute to learn cooking.

However, the promo video also emphasises that the film isn’t solely about easy, slice-of-life moments. As the trailer unfolds, we catch glimpses of the challenges she faces, particularly following the fire incident in the kitchen during the reality show.

Nevertheless, she refuses to give up and makes a bold return to the program, exuding confidence and capturing everyone’s attention, living up to her name Annapoorani (the goddess of food).

Jointly produced by Jatin Sethi and R Ravindran, the film also features Sathyaraj, Redin Kingsley, Suresh Chakravarthy, Renuka and KS Ravikumar in key roles. Thaman S is responsible for the music, while Sathyan Sooryan serves as the cinematographer. The film will hit the screens on December 1.
