Filmmaker Danny Boyle’s biopic, “Steve Jobs”, based on the late Apple co-founder, will release in New York and Los Angeles theatres on October 9.
Earlier, Universal had planned on a nationwide release on October 9 but decided it will expand the movie to additional North American markets on October 16 and then go nationwide on October 23, reported Variety.
The biopic, penned by screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, stars Michael Fassbender in the titular role.
The film recounts the ups and downs Jobs had during his career which encouraged him to revolutionise the computer, music and mobile industries.

“Steve Jobs” stars Kate Winslet as ex-Macintosh marketing chief Joanna Hoffman, Seth Rogen, as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley, along with Katherine Waterston, Michael Stuhlbarg.
“Steve Jobs” premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on September 5 and will play at the New York Film Festival on October 3.
