Actor Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 has slowed down considerably at the box office, with weekend also failing to give it a much-needed boost. Despite a strong start at the box office on November 12, the film’s collection slowed down in the week to come. However, it has this week to reach the Rs 500 crore worldwide mark before Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal arrives. On the 15th day of the Tiger 3’s release which was a Sunday, the movie saw average footfall in theatres.
According to trade website Sacnilk, as per early estimates, Tiger 3 earned Rs 6.65 cr on the 15th day of its release. Despite being a Sunday, the film’s collection remained almost the same as a Saturday. Now the total India collection in all languages stands at Rs 271.09 crore. Until Saturday, the film’s total worldwide collection was Rs 420 crore.
The film’s Hindi occupancy stood at 22.96 percent and maximum collections came from Mumbai with occupancy of 29 percent.
The Maneesh Sharma directorial now has four days until Ranbir Kapoor’s hyperviolent film Animal released in theatres. The film is expected to bite into a large chunk of the movie-going crowd and will affect Tiger’s 3 business. The pre-booking business of Animal is already posing a threat to Salman’s spy film.
Tiger 3 is the third installment in the Tiger franchise and part of Yash Raj Films’s Spy Universe and has been reportedly made on the budget of Rs 300 crore. The film stars Salman in the titular character and Katrina as Zoya. The movie introduces Emraan Khan as the antagonist Aatish. Other YRF films, which are a part of this are Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, Pathaan and War. There is no update on any other sequel, except for War 2, which will feature RRR star NTR Jr.
