Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 is all set to have a roaring debut on Diwali. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Tiger 3 has already sold 5.86 lakh tickets worth Rs 15.58 crores, across all formats and languages. Since the film is releasing on Diwali Day, there is some scepticism as to how it will perform on the opening day as not many people go out for a film on Diwali evening. According to Bollywood Hungama, the film is headed for a Rs 35 crore opening.
As reported by Pinkvilla, Tiger 3 has sold almost 2,00,000 tickets in popular national cinema chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. With one day left until its release, Tiger 3 has sold fewer tickets, 1.9 lakh, in these chains compared to other big films like Jawan, Pathaan, Adipurush, and Gadar 2, which had higher ticket sales ranging from 2.74 lakh to 5.57 lakh.
Tiger 3 is the latest addition to producer Aditya Chopra’s spy universe. It all started with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 and Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017, and later expanded to include War in 2019 with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, and the recent film Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Tiger 3 is helmed by Maneesh Sharma and also stars Emraan Hashmi in a pivotal role.
Maneesh recently opened up about Salman’s entry in the film and said in a statement, “Bunch of talented and enthusiastic minds – Some of our best action, stunts , grips and effects people came together to craft a 10-minute block that does justice to Tiger’s entry. An entry that does Tiger justice. This intro sequence is a highlight of the film, and which includes an exciting action sequence that reminds Bhai’s fans exactly how cool Tiger is.”
