Like many other siblings, Tanishaa Mukerji too shares a special bond with her sister Kajol. And while the sisters cherish each other today, things weren’t always so smooth between them. In a recent interview, Tanishaa shared that her mother Tanuja banned the two sisters from fighting physically as she was scared that Kajol would kill Tanishaa.
In an interaction with Hauterrfly, Tanishaa was asked about her childhood memories and shared how she was raised by a bunch of strong women. “My great-grandmother raised me. My mom would go for work. Her brother and his 2 daughters were also used to stay with us. So, I grew up with three sisters,” shared Tanishaa. When asked about her fights with sister Kajol during their childhood, Tanishaa recalled that mom Tanuja was “scared” for her younger daughter’s life. “Kajol and I used to fight a lot. She is older than me in age as well as in size. She is physically bigger than me,” she said and added, “My mother used to get scared that Kajol would kill me one day. She had a very bad temper when she was a kid. My mom used to be very scared.”
Tanishaa went on to add, “My mom made a rule that we can fight without touching each other. I think it was a very good thing that Mummy did for us. Because of that, Kajol and I developed a strong bond of sisterhood for each other.”
Tanishaa made her debut in the movies in the early 2000s but got people’s attention when she appeared with Uday Chopra in the 2005 YRF’s film Neal n Nikki. Tanishaa also participated in Bigg Boss 7 as a contestant and emerged as the first runner-up. She also participated on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
While Tanishaa could not make it big in Bollywood, she is all set to make her debut in Marathi cinema with the film, Veer Murarbaji.
