Back in 2004, when Shahid Kapoor was a fairly new actor, the actor found himself in a controversy after photos of him kissing his then-girlfriend sparked widespread chatter. However, Shahid, on multiple occasions has denied the authenticity of the photos. The actor, who was just 24 years old at the time, has now opened up about how deeply affected he was by the incident.
In an interview with Mid-day, Shahid said, “I was destroyed at that time. I was just a 24-year-old kid and I felt my privacy had been invaded and I could do nothing to protect it. I was a mess, I was like, yeh kya ho gaya and what is going on and of course, it affects you a lot. At that age especially, because you don’t even know exactly your own feelings and then you are figuring out how to be with a girl and you are dating and in the middle this happens.”
In those days, Shahid was dating actor Kareena Kapoor, and the two had openly spoken about their relationship with each other. However, the couple ended their relationship in 2007 and have since moved on, marrying different individuals. Shahid is now married to Mira Rajput, while Kareena is married to Saif Ali Khan.
Shahid said that he is now more conscious of his actions and highlighted that he is married with children, suggesting that people are no longer interested in his personal life. He said, “I think now you are aware that it is 100 percent going to happen. At that time, we were caught off guard by it. So, it is like an informed devil as opposed to an uninformed devil scenario. Also ab toh meri shaadi ho gayi hai, bachche ho gaye hain. Nobody is interested in those things about me. They have other 24-year-olds to focus on.”
On the work front, Shahid was recently seen in the film Bloody Daddy.
