Actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are currently enjoying the box office performance of their recently released film Tiger 3. The film’s team hosted a success bash where the actors interacted with fans and the media. At the event, Salman entertained the crowd with not just songs and dance, but also with his trademark dry wit. One such moment was when the actor made a joke about co-star Emraan Hashmi shedding his ‘serial kisser’ image.
Emraan plays the antagonist Aatish in Tiger 3, and is being praised for his performance. In recent interviews, he has spoken about trying to distance himself from his past image as a lover. Salman spoke about his onscreen romance with co-star Katrina Kaif, and later made everyone laugh with his jokes.
Salman said, “…Aur kyunki Katrina hai iss picture mein to thoda to romance banta hi hai Zoya aur Tiger ka. Aur agar Emraan ka role Aatish ka nahi hota to main aapko guarantee se bolta hun ki ye to ho hi jata (goes over and pretends to kiss Emraan). Meri aadat to kabhi rahi nahi, lekin aisa lag raha hai ki inki aadat ja rahi hai (Because Katrina is in the movie, of course there had to be some romance between Tiger and Zoya. Had Emraan not played the role of Aatish then I can guarantee you that this would have happened. I’ve been well-behaved, and Emraan seems to be going in the same direction).”

During his conversation, a female fan made a loud reference to former Bigg Boss contestant Elvish Yadav, by putting her own spin on a viral line. She screamed, “Salman bhai ke saame koi kuch bol sakta hai kya!”. Salman told the fan in jest, “Itna zyada bol rahi ho ki bolne nahi de rahi ho aur ye sawaal puch rahi ho ki ‘Salman bhai ke saamne koi bol sakta hai kya’. Khud bol rahi ho aur khud jawaab de rahi ho (How will I speak if you speak so much).”
Tiger 3 had an unconventional release on a Sunday, coinciding with the festival of Diwali. The film made Rs 43 crore on opening day, which Salman spoke about as well. “Sunday ko release hui hai, aur Diwali ke din par aur 43 crore ka collection ho gaya hai. Mujhe aisa doubt ho raha tha ki koi ghar par family ke saath baith ke pooja paath kar raha tha ke nahi kar raha tha (The film released on Sunday, on Diwali and did business of Rs 43 crore. I started having doubts if people are even doing their Diwali pooja with their families or not),” he said.
According to trade website Sacnilk, Tiger 3 earned Rs 13 crore on Friday, bringing the film’s total nett collection to Rs 200 crore. But since then, the film’s collections have shown a steady decline, and with the World Cup final around the corner, it looks like the film will have a difficult time in its second weekend.
