Sachin Tendulkar reviews Sitaare Zameen Par, says Aamir Khan’s film has the power to bring everyone together. Watch

Sitaare Zameen Par first reviews: Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar was invited by Aamir Khan to catch an early screening of Sitaare Zameen Par.

Aamir Khan and Sachin TendulkarSachin Tendulkar shares his first review of Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par.

Actor Aamir Khan would be feeling all kinds of nervous as he approaches the release of his film Sitaare Zameen Par. The film follows the story of a has-been basketball coach who must teach the game to a group of neurodivergent kids. To get some valuable insights, the actor invited his friend, the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, to an early screening of the film. The ‘god’ of cricket gave the actor a much-needed breather as he complimented the film and the message it hopes to impart.

Aamir had mentioned in a previous interview with Just Too Filmy that Sachin’s wife, Anjali Tendulkar, had called him and asked whether he could arrange an early screening for the couple, as they will most likely be travelling on the day of release. Naturally Aamir made it happen, and the couple met with the entire cast of the film and watched the film. After viewing the film, Sachin shared his thoughts on the picture and lauded the makers and the actors of the film for the final product.

Sachin said, “I absolutely loved the film. The entire film and story make you laugh and cry with the entire team ‘sitaare’. I have always said that sports have the power to teach us everything. There are so many messages that have the power of bringing people together, and those are the messages you get from the film. I would like to congratulate all the actors for a job well done and wish them the best of luck for the future.” Before Sachin, author and philanthropist Sudha Murthy also commented on the film and called it an ‘eye-opening’ story.

She said, “Many people don’t understand such children whom we call ‘not normal’. But this is a very beautiful movie where you understand that they are very sensitive and that they have a pure heart. They always smile, too, because they are so pure in their approach to life. These are great and deep philosophical lessons which we learn from these people (the characters in the film).” With stellar reviews from the likes of Tendulkar and Murthy, Aamir would definitely be feeling some much needed wind under those wings. After rejecting a Rs 120 crore OTT deal, and stating that the film will only be available in theatres, Aamir will be hoping that this gamble works. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie has only managed Rs 4.48 crore in advance booking, including block seats.

Directed by RS Prasanna, the film features Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain and Ashish Pendse, among others. The story has been penned by Divy Sidhi Sharma, and the film has been jointly produced by Aamir and Aparna Purohit. Music for the film has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and the lyrics have been written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
