Kangana Ranaut has had issues with many people in the Hindi film industry. She called Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhasker ‘B-Grade actors’, and she still stays firm on what she said. Recently, Kangana explained why her statement about Taapsee and Swara was ‘not wrong’. She said while Taapsee begged for roles that were rejected by her, Swara had problems with her because she didn’t agree with her opinions.
In a recent interaction with Times Now Navbharat, Kangana said Taapsee said unruly things about her after achieving success. So, she and her sister responded by calling her a ‘B-grade actor’.
The Queen star said, “Taapsee said that Kangana needs a double filter. She struggled from 2012-13, and finally, when she achieved success in 2016, at that time, she said, ‘Kangana needs a double filter.’ That is when my sister said that it is not right on the part of these actresses, who copy Kangana and do films that Kangana has rejected, to talk about someone like this, especially jab aap unse hi inspire ho kar apna career chala rahe hain (When you are flourishing in your career only after getting inspired by that person).”
Kangana said she didn’t find anything wrong with what her sister said. “She (Taapsee) is older than me, and still if she is inspired by me and considers me her role model, then using such ‘abhadra’ (unpleasant) words is quite extreme. That is why my sister said what she said,” the actor said while adding that she has never paid much attention to Taapsee and only wishes her to become successful in her career.
Speaking about Swara, Kangana said that she was good friends with her during the shoot of their film Tanu Weds Manu. “During the shoot, she would walk holding my hands. I remember I styled her hair for her introduction scene. Then suddenly she had a problem with me. People who become quite liberal and tolerant, don’t like the views of anyone else. Maybe that’s what happened with her,” shared Kangana.
Kangana has gotten embroiled in a war of words with Taapsee and Swara on social media on several occasions. In 2021, Swara mocked Kangana for starting the feminism movement with her film Queen, and she, in turn, accused Swara of protecting movie mafias. They had even been at loggerheads over the proceedings of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
