When Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol got married a few months ago, the absence of Hema Malini and her daughters Esha and Ahana Deol was duly noted by the fans. Sunny Deol is the son of Dharmendra and first wife Prakash Kaur. Dharmendra later married Hema Malini with whom he has two daughters — Esha and Ahana Deol. It was speculated at the time that the two sides of the family don’t see eye to eye. But now, Hema Malini has opened up about the equation between the two families and said that Sunny and his brother Bobby Deol visit them very often. She added that they are “always together.”
Hema Malini was asked about Esha and Ahana’s reunion with Sunny and Bobby as the siblings recently posed for photographers when Esha hosted a screening of Gadar 2. She told News 18 Showsha, “I am feeling very happy, I do not feel it is something new because it is very normal. Many times they keep coming home and all but we do not publish it anywhere, we are not the type to take pictures and immediately put it up on Instagram. We are not that kind of a family.”
She added, “We are all very much together, always together. Any problem we are always together with each other. So, the press got it and it is nice, they are happy about it, and I am also happy.”
Hema told India Today that people make it look like they are “separated” but that is not the case. She added that the family celebrates Raksha Bandhan together. “It is funny how people make it look like we are separated. We are always together, whole family is with us. For certain reasons, they were not in the marriage and that is a different matter. But Sunny, Bobby always come during Raksha Bandhan since the beginning,” she said.
Dharmendra and Hema got married in 1980 when Dharmendra was already married to Prakash and was the father of four kids – Sunny, Bobby, Vijayta and Ajeeta. With Hema, he has two daughters – Esha and Ahana. Dharmendra continues to live with Prakash to this day.
The absence of Hema’s family from Karan’s wedding also reminded fans that Sunny and Bobby were also absent from Esha and Ahana’s weddings. The siblings support each other on social media as they often congratulate each other on their achievements but before the Gadar 2 screening, they were hardly seen together in public.
