Actor Hansika Motwani tied the knot with businessman Sohael Kathuria in December 2022. The couple, who got married in Rajasthan, hosted pre-wedding festivities including mehendi polo, sangeet and haldi.

The rituals went through without a hitch, but Hansika’s mother Mona Motwani had one issue. Mona appeared to be upset with Sohael’s family for being late to the events. On the latest episode of Hansika’s Love Shaadi Drama, Mona was seen calling Sohael’s mother and complaining about them being late to the ceremonies.

Mona said, “I have a humble request to make. Kathurias are people who are very late and Motwanis are very punctual. If you come late today, you must pay me Rs 5 lakh for every minute of delay. I make this request because the inauspicious hour is between 4:30 p.m to 6 p.m. So I request if you could come a little early.”

Hansika described the emotions she felt when she saw Sohael waiting at the mandap. She said, “It was so surreal. It hit me so hard and I was like ‘I am getting married to the love of my life.’ It was the best feeling. Things are getting real. I am getting married. I don’t know how to explain it. And it was just something so different and I broke down.”

In November 2022, Hansika announced her engagement to Sohael and wrote in the caption “Now&Forever.” Hansika’s Love Shaadi Drama is currently streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
