The pace has finally picked up at the box office, as the Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn-led sports biopic Maidaan gear up for an Eid face-off. After the confusion regarding their release dates was cleared on Tuesday, Bade Miya Chote Miyan and Maidaan finally saw proper showcasing on ticket booking platforms.

This resulted in spike in the advance booking numbers for day one, April 11. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has so far sold 42,252 tickets amounting to Rs 1.05 cr, reported industry tracker Sacnilk. Out of these, 13,000 tickets were sold in national chains till Tuesday night. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada across 3D and IMAX.

Unlike the Ali Abbas Zafar actioner, Maidaan will only see a Hindi release in 2D and IMAX versions. The Amit Sharma directorial has so far sold 16,178 tickets all over India, out of which 9000 were sold in national chains. The figures include tickets for paid previews as well, which will take place on April 10 evening, followed by a full-fledged release on April 11.

Though the number of tickets booked for April 11 for both the films have seen a rise, they are still dull for the Eid holiday period. Pinkvilla reported that both Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan were looking at lukewarm openings at the box office. While the Ajay Devgn-starrer is expected to make Rs 7 cr on Eid, the big-scale actioner Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is projected to mint Rs 15 cr.

The two films will then pretty much have an open run at the box office, with no big releases lined up the entire month. While Akshay and Tiger are coming off a series of under-performers, Ajay was recently seen in the surprise hit horror film Shaitaan.
