The Minsitry of Education on September 4 announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Among 17 categories, one of the categories was the best dental colleges, wherein the first spot is secured by All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, followed by Chennai’s Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences. The third and fourth spots have been given to Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences and Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, respectively.
This is the first spot that has been snatched from Saveetha University, and AIIMS has been ranked the best. AIIMS has also been ranked the top institute under the medical category of the India Rankings 2025. Here is the list of the top 20 dental institutes in the country:

Last year, under the dental category, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences grabbed the first rank followed by Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, and King George`s Medical University.
In 2023 and 2022, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, bagged the first spot. The institution was ranked at 3 and 4 positions in the Dental category of NIRF ranking 2021 and 2020, respectively.
