Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh has delegated the task of responding to unstarred questions in Parliament to his two deputies — Ministers of State S P Singh Baghel and George Kurien. Baghel will oversee questions related to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, while Kurien will be responsible for those concerning the Department of Fisheries. This is not the first time Singh has taken such a stance in distributing work among his team members. Earlier, he had allocated several subjects to the two deputies, including VIP references.
On the lines of ‘chai pe charcha’ campaign that the BJP launched in 2014 Lok Sabha polls and replicated later in Assembly and general elections, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has decided to launch a ‘paan pe charcha’ campaign in which party workers will hold discussions with people in favour of the party at paan (betel leaf) shops. The campaign will be launched initially in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls.
Days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the law and order situation in the Capital, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora formed dedicated anti-harassment teams — ‘Shishtachar Squads’ — in all the 15 police districts to curb crimes against women in the city. All the districts were asked to form two dedicated squads of 12 members each. After forming the teams, senior police officers have now asked the members to attend a one-day training programme to understand their duties.
