Note-worthy: Annual Day celebrations

Andhra High School,Pune,celebrated its Annual Day that displayed great enthusiasm and overall participation.

Andhra High School (AHS),Pune,celebrated its Annual Day that displayed great enthusiasm and overall participation. Professor S B Rao,founder member,AHS and Andhra Association,wasthe chief guest at the event. The students put up several entertaining performances,like patriotic shows and plays. The Best Meritorious Students were given academic prizes and lauded for their efforts. The celebrations were attended by parents of the students as well as members of the Andhra Association.

Tree walk

Ecoexist,a social enterprise,is hosting a Pune Tree Fest 2012 from January 6 – 8. The main aim of this event is to draw attention to the trees and greenery of the city. A Tree Walk has been organised at the Joggers Park,Kalyani Nagar,on Sunday,January 8 from 7 – 9 am. All nature lovers can attend this and learn about various trees that are most commonly seen in the neighbourhood. Experts will conduct the walk and teach participants how understand,love and protect trees. For registrations,contact indradhanushya@punecorporation.org

“eCoexist is based in Kalyani Nagar and we have done other campaigns on organic food and plastic bags. When Pune Muncipal Corporation suggested a tree walk,we were delighted to host the event. We are gathering residents of Kalyani Nagar and have a blog where we have asked people to send in images of trees in their gardens and help educate people about the types of trees and how to protect them,” says Manisha Gutman,founder of eCoexist.
