The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Thursday announced the 23rd edition of its flagship event, the Green Building Congress 2025, to be held from November 27 to 29 at Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.
Recognised as Asia’s largest congregation for green buildings and sustainable infrastructure, the event will showcase over 1,000 eco-friendly technologies, solutions, and products to advance India’s green and Net Zero building movement. The three-day event will feature an international conference and a Green Expo open to the public with free entry.
The theme for this year, ‘Green Shifts for Greener Tomorrows: Do Good, Feel Good – Embrace Green Choices for a Sustainable Future’, marks IGBC’s 25th anniversary and highlights its ongoing commitment to sustainable growth and responsible urban development.
Launching the event, B Thiagarajan, National Chairman of IGBC and Managing Director of Blue Star Ltd, said, “Sustainability is not just about policy or technology; it is about people making responsible choices every day. We must embrace green shifts that make our cities resilient, our communities healthier, and our economy future-ready.”
The event will host industry leaders, architects, engineers, policymakers, and academicians, promoting knowledge sharing and collaborations in areas such as decarbonisation, ESG frameworks, AI and IoT in buildings, green financing, Net Zero homes, and women’s leadership in sustainability.
C Shekar Reddy, national vice-chairman of IGBC, said India’s green journey has been remarkable, “From a single green building in 2001 to over 14 billion square feet of registered green footprint today.”
The 2025 edition will also be organised as a carbon-neutral event, reinforcing IGBC’s commitment to sustainable practices. It aims to inspire both industry stakeholders and the public to adopt greener choices for a resilient, low-carbon future.
