A twenty-year-old domestic help was arrested by the Goregaon Police on Sunday for allegedly stabbing his employer and his wife over non-payment of dues. The accused,Narendrakumar Kajal,was nabbed by residents and was handed over to the police.
An officer from the Goregaon police station said the incident took place around 10 am on Sunday at the victims rented apartment.
The victim,Ashok Basak (34) resides with his wife Parmeshwari (30) at Motilal Nagar in Goregaon (West). On Sunday,Kajal confronted Ashok over non-payment of dues.
An argument ensued and he stabbed the couple, said assistant police inspector Bapusaheb Bagal,the investigating officer in the case.
Basak works as a writer for television serials and has also written a script for a movie,said the police.
Ashok has stab wounds on his left cheek,right arm,right forearm and neck. His wife Parmeshwari was stabbed on the neck and the stomach. They were taken by neighbours to Nair Hospital in Goregaon. Their condition is critical and is being monitored, said Bagal.
Kajal is from Haryana. Initial investigations have revealed that he was not paid his dues for the past three months,which amounts to a total of Rs 6,000. Further investigations are on, he added.
