Peel Regional Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting outside a Brampton, Canada home last week as 26-year-old Pritpal Singh.
Police spokesperson Richard Chin confirmed on Monday that Singh and another man were shot in the driveway of a residence on Odeon Street near Concorde Drive just after 11:30 p.m. on December 4.
Officers arrived to find Singh with multiple gunshot wounds and attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.
Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and are exploring a potential link to another incident in Caledon that occurred about 30 minutes later. In the second case, shots were fired at a home on Centreville Creek Road, but no injuries were reported.
Peel police and the Ontario Provincial Police are working together to determine the connection between the two incidents. Property records reveal that the owners of the Brampton home where Singh was killed also own the property targeted in Caledon.
At the Brampton crime scene, police found clear evidence of gunfire, including about 20 evidence markers scattered on the driveway and near the front door stairwell. A grey Honda Civic in the driveway was riddled with bullet holes, and a trail of blood led from the driveway to a separate entrance of the house.
The incident appears to have been captured in a graphic video widely shared online. The footage shows two men clearing snow off a car moments before a white four-door sedan pulls up beside them. Two individuals exit the vehicle and open fire. One victim is seen running toward the home, while the other collapses in the driveway.
Police have confirmed they are aware of the video and are searching for the white sedan. As of Monday, no arrests have been made, and suspect information has not been released.
Neighbours told reporters the house had been listed for sale multiple times in the past year but was ultimately rented out.
The investigation remains active, and police have not shared further details.
