Hosts Panjab University,Chandigarh entered the semifinal of the all-India inter university baseball (women) championship.

Hosts Panjab University,Chandigarh entered the semifinal of the all-India inter university baseball (women) championship being held at the PU Campus on Tuesday. The hosts came up with a dominating performance and crushed Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University 11-1,in a lop-sided quarterfinal encounter.

The hosts were joined by Maharishi Dayanand University (Rohtak),Punjabi University (Patiala) and Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar) in the semifinals.

Maharishi Dayanand University hammered Lovely Professional University,Phagwara 17-6 while Punjabi University got the better of Delhi University 3-2 in a hard-fought encounter. The Guru Nanak Dev University,however,did not face any challenge from Pune University and outscored them 13-4.

Earlier in preliminary round matches,RTM University,Nagpur defeated Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya,Bhopal 12-2,Pune University routed Maharaja Ganga Singh University,Bikaner 17-3 and Punjabi University,Patiala thrashed Jiwaji University,Gwalior 12-2.
