Bangla woman helps police rescue 27 girls

Bangladeshi woman helped the police rescue 27 girls and arrest 19 persons from a city bar Tuesday.

The woman was brought to the city with the promise of providing a job but was forced to work as a bar dancer . The girls were allegedly forced to work as bar dancers and bartenders at the bar and restaurant.

The Bangladeshi woman contacted her brother Kulakarn Ray over the phone and informed him that she was being subjected to harassment, police commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar said. The Central Crime Branch police conducted a raid on the bar Tuesday night. The rescued women hail from Bangladesh, Nepal, Punjab, Mumbai, Haryana, Patiala, Haridwar, Rajasthan, Jalandar and Kolkata.
