Himadri Singh is a political leader from Madhya Pradesh and a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. She is the incumbent Member of the Parliament from Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol constituency. She was born in New Delhi on April 9, 1988, to her parents, former Union Minister Dalbir Singh and Rajesh Nandini Singh. She completed her BA in Political Science from Monad University.
She came into prominence when the BJP announced her as their Lok Sabha candidate from Shahdol in the 2019 Lok Sabha seat. She won the election by a landslide margin of over 4 lakh votes, marking her strong entry into the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
Before joining the BJP in 2019, she was affiliated with the Congress party. She also contested in 2016 Shahdol Lok Sabha by-elections but ended up losing the contest to BJP’s Gyan Singh. She denied losing the by-election as the reason for her decision by simple citing her husband's and uncle’s affiliation as her motivation to join BJP.
