With the US election less than four months away, the Democrats remain in a huddle over presumed nominee Joe Biden and now former President Barack Obama has privately expressed concern regarding the candidacy of Biden.

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi has also warned the President that if he doesn’t reverse his decision to contest, there are high chances that Democrats would lose the chance to regain control of the House.

Obama, who has supported Biden in the past, has voiced his concern regarding President Biden’s chances of winning the election against Republican nominee Donald Trump.

According to the Washington Post, which quoted sources familiar with the matter, Obama believes that Biden, whose cognitive abilities have come under cloud in the recent past, needs to reassess the “viability of his candidacy”.

It is being said that this weekend will be significant as President Biden is suffering from COVID-19 and it’ll be the right time for him to reassess.

According to AP, Pelosi showed Biden the opinion polls data which are more or less projecting Biden’s loss. But the 81-year-old politician is not ready to bog down and has stated that he defeated Trump in 2020 and that he is the one to do it again.

After a disastrous debate with Donald Trump, President Joe Biden reassured the Democrats that he will set the records straight and defeat Trump but the party has become concerned as Trump is getting traction post surviving the assassination attempt.

Meanwhile, Biden in an interview to BET responded to a question on leaving the presidential race and said, “If I had some medical condition that emerged, if somebody, if the doctors came and said ‘you’ve got this problem, that problem.”

With Democratic National Convention scheduled for the first week in August, it is the need of the hour for Democrats to decide whether to go with Biden or a new face in the November polls.
