Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that Oman’s foreign minister brought elements of a US proposal for a possible nuclear deal during a short visit to Tehran.

In a post on X, Araghchi said: “Iran will respond to the US proposal in line with the principles, national interests and rights of the people of Iran.”

His comments, reported by Reuters, come as both Iran and the United States prepare for what could be a sixth round of talks aimed at settling long-running tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme.

The time and place for the next round of talks have not yet been confirmed.

Iran has maintained that it is open to compromises related to its nuclear program but uranium enrichment remains non-negotiable.
