‘Nothing will stop me’, says Donald Trump in first speech since assassination attempt

“I’m not supposed to be here”

The 78-year-old Republican had the crowd chanting “Yes, you are!” when he started speaking about the assassination attempt this week and claimed that he shouldn’t be here.

“I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of Almighty God,” Trump added.

Trump paid homage to Corey Comperatore, the attendee who lost his life amid the chaos at the Pennsylvania rally by kissing the firefighter’s gear.

“Stop weaponizing the justice system and labeling their political opponent as an enemy of democracy.”, Trump added calling out the Opposition.

“Nothing will stop me in this mission. Because our vision is righteous and our cause is pure.”, he roared.

“I will end the illegal immigration crisis by closing our border and finishing the wall, most of which I have already built.” he added.

‘A dumping ground for the rest of the world’

The former president spoke about the illegal immigrant invasion and called it a plague that has left the country as a dumping ground for other countries.

“There’s never been an invasion like this anywhere. Third-world countries would fight with sticks and stones not to let this happen. The invasion at our southern border, we will stop it, and we will stop it quickly,” he said referring to the US-Mexico border.

Taking a dig at the Biden office, Trump claimed that his is the only administration that says “we’re going to raise your taxes by four times what you’re paying now.”

A call for American unity

Making a pitch for unity, Trump said, “I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America, because there is no victory in winning for half of America.”

“The discord and division in our society must be healed. We must heal it quickly. As Americans, we are bound together by a single fate and a shared destiny. We rise together. Or we fall apart,” he added.

“We settle for too little”

The first president to be a felony convict, Trump spoke of the nation “not expecting enough” from the administration and their leaders.

“For too long, our nation has settled for too little. We settle for too little. We’ve given everything to other nations, to other people. You have been told to lower your expectations and to accept less for your families. I am here tonight with the opposite message. Your expectations are not big enough,” he said.

The four day convention applauded Trump profusely and came right after US President Joe Biden had called Vice President Kamla Harris as Trump, and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Vladimir Putin — Russia President — in his solo conference last week adding to the attacks on him running the country.

“Our opponents inherited a planet at peace and turned it into a planet at war,” Trump said.

Trump Administration

The 93-minute-long speech by the presidential nominee stretched out the plan for mass deportation of illegal immigrants taking on the operation conducted by President Dwight D Eisenhower.

He claimed that he is planning a massive drive, “even larger than that of President Dwight D Eisenhower from many years ago.” “

“You know, he was a moderate but he believed very strongly in borders. He had the largest deportation operation we’ve ever had.”, he added.

Is Elon still endorsing Trump?

Trump lashed out at ‘Electric Vehicles’ in his speech claiming to take action against them one day. He said he would revive “the US auto industry from complete obliteration, which is happening right now.”

Earlier this week, Elon Musk publicly endorsed Trump in the US presidential race after the assassination attempt. However, the stance still remains for the Tesla CEO is an interesting quest. Musk took to X and reposted statistical data of US EV Registrations in May 2024 while Trump was addressing the convention.
