Delta Airlines Plane Crash: A Delta Airlines plane 4819, which had 76 passengers and 4 crew members onboard, crash landed at the Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada on Monday and left 18 persons injured with no casualties.

The Delta Airlines flight, operated by Endeavor Air, was coming from Minneapolis’ St. Paul International Airport and was destined to land at Ontario’s Toronto Pearson International Airport.

It is yet to be determined what caused the plane to crash, however, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that investigation will be carried out by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

Here’s what we know so far:

At least 18 persons are reported to be injured, including a child, in the Delta Airlines plane crash in Canada’s Ontario. Two people are reported to be in critical condition, however, their injuries are considered not life threatening.
All 80 passengers aboard the plane were evacuated alive, the FAA said and Delta Airlines informed that there were 76 passengers and four crew members.
A CNN report stated that according to the air traffic control (ATC) audio, a medical helicopter which was hovering in the area offered to help as the plane crashed. The pilot of the helicopter, at one point, was heard saying “The aircraft is upside down and burning.”
Toronto Pearson Fire Chief Todd Aitken said that his team of emergency responders immediately rushed to the crash site and started fire extinguishing and evacuation of people onboard. Todd said it was a dry runway and there were no cross-wind conditions, adding it was still early into the investigation.
According to Flight Radar 24, flight operations at the Toronto Pearson International Airport have resumed with more than 200 flights canceled earlier in the day.
According to Delta Airlines’ X post, “Delta has activated its Passenger Inquiry Center for family and loved ones of customers involved in today’s accident so they can connect with Delta for more information. In Canada, these individuals may reach out via 1-866-629-4775. In the United States, they may connect using 1-800-997-5454.”
