While travelling by air, many of us feel secure the moment we check-in our luggage and board the flight. The fact that our bags are sealed and locked, reinforces this faith. However, a video that has been recently shared by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on social media questions the ‘security’ provided by the various airline authorities. The two clips that have been captioned, “Our luggage in the flights safe or not?” show an airline staff opening and checking the luggage of passengers that has already been stored on the aircraft.
While, it is clear in the video that the person is going through the bags and checking its content, it isn’t clear whether he has been instructed to do so or is snooping around to steal something. Moreover, the CM has neither mentioned the name of the airline nor disclosed the location, and nor do we know the source of the video. We wonder why the bags were being opened after they have already been checked and boarded on the flight.
This video clearly makes one wonder about the reliability of airline staff and the reality of the security they claim to provide. Do you think your luggage is safe while travelling? Tell us in the comments below.
