A security guard crossed paths with a 25ft long python while patrolling an oil palm plantation in the remote Batang Gansal subdistrict of Sumatra island and nearly lost his arm. According to AFP reports, Robert Nababan got into a brutal combat with the reptile and tried to stuff it in a bag. The giant python fought back and bit him on his left arm. Catching sight of the intense tussle, a few locals came to his help and started lashing out the snake with a huge log.
The injured security guard was then rushed to a hospital in a neighbouring town for treatment. What’s even cringeworthy is that after saving the 37-year-old, the Indonesian villagers kept the body for display before frying the giant creature for a lavish meal. Pythons larger than 20 feet in length, are commonly found in Indonesia and the Philippines especially on agricultural lands.
