Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and his wife Grecia Munoz turned heads recently as they took on the food delivery agent job for a day to experience the adversities faced by delivery executives. On Sunday, Goyal shared a video revealing that he was stopped from using the main entrance of Gurugram’s Ambience Mall while making food deliveries, which left him no other option but to take stairs.

In a video, Goyal—who is seen sporting a Zomato delivery agent uniform—shares that the company has realised that they should join hands with malls to improve the working conditions of delivery agents. “During my second order, I realised that we need to work with malls more closely to improve working conditions for all delivery partners. And malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners,” the video stated.

Further, Goyal shares that he was told to take the other entrance at the Ambience Mall when he reached to pick up Haldiram’s order. “We reached Ambience Mall in Gurugram to pick up the order from Haldiram’s. I was told to take the other entrance, and realised they were asking me to take the stairs. Went in again on the main entrance to make sure there aren’t any elevators for delivery partners,” he said.

The Zomato CEO continued and claimed that he had taken the stairs to the third floor when he found out that delivery agents had to wait at the stairs to pick up the food orders. “Took the stairs to the third floor to realise that we can’t enter the mall and have to wait at the stairs to receive the orders,” he said.

The now-viral video captures Goyal sitting on the floor with the other delivery agents and having a chat. “Chilled with my fellow delivery partners while also getting valuable feedback from them,” he added.
