In India, Mother’s Day is observed on the second Sunday of May. This year, the day was celebrated on May 12, and social media was swamped with heartwarming videos. To make the day worth remembering, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal surprised his employees by inviting their mothers to the office.
In a series of videos shared by Goyal, a group of mothers can be seen cutting a cake that reads ‘Mom’ as the employees cheer for them. In a few photos, Goyal can be seen posing with them.
Sharing the videos and the photos of the celebration on X, Goyal wrote, “And here’s the surprise! We invited the moms of our employees to celebrate the day with us at the office. Also got great feedback on how to run @zomato better. So much love all around today.”
Take a look at the post here:
Shared on May 12, the post garnered over 86,000 views and social media users appreciated Goyal’s thoughtful surprise. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “What a great initiative and such a lovely cake !” Another user reacted, “Showed this to my mom, now she wants to sign up. Where do I drop my resume guys?”
“Truly touched by great gesture. Best wishes to Team Zomato,” a third user reacted.
In another post, Goyal shared pictures of the artwork made by the employees’ mothers. “Sharing moments of ZoMoms who blessed our office today and made some really wonderful art pieces for their children’s work desk,” he wrote.
For Mother’s Day, Zomato launched a new feature on the food delivery application. The feature generated personalised celebrity video messages for mothers. This AI video was generated through the feature which requires customers to choose a celebrity and then add their mother’s name.
