Bengaluru’s Yeshwantpur railway station is poised for a remarkable transformation into a world-class facility with an impressive investment of Rs 377 crore, announced Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Anticipating a substantial increase in traffic over the next 20-30 years, the minister emphasised the station’s strategic importance.

A post, shared on X by @MagnifyIndia1, states the upgraded Yeshwantpur railway station is set to become a comprehensive transportation hub, accommodating suburban, mainline railway, and city metro traffic.

A noteworthy feature of the revamped railway station is the introduction of a roof plaza, designed to enhance passenger experience. This plaza will include a dedicated children’s play area, providing a family-friendly environment.

Additionally, a shopping area within the station premises is being planned to offer a diverse range of products.


The BJP MP from Bangalore South constituency, Tejasvi Surya, also took to the platform to appreciate the efforts.

One user wrote, “Proud on the endeavour,” while another responded with, ”Pls try to complete it as soon as possible sir..!! One way pedestrian moment is causing a lot of problems for the ppl n age old people.”
