Woman flying on Delhi-Toronto Air India flight voices her disappointment with airlineShreyti Garg said she paid Rs 4.5 lakh for the tickets but wasn’t satisfied with the service provided by the airline.

A woman, who travelled on an Air India flight from New Delhi to Toronto along with her two young children, took to Instagram to voice her disappointment with the airline. Shreyti Garg said she paid Rs 4.5 lakh for the tickets but wasn’t satisfied with the service provided by the airline.

Garg said the in-flight entertainment system was not working on all three seats and they had to use their phone’s light as the overhead cabin lights were not working. She said this wasn’t expected on a 15-hour long flight.

“Yes! This is the service we got after paying 4.5 Lakh INR to @airindia We were on Air India Flight from Delhi to Toronto travelling with our 2 kids (2.5 yo and 7mo). And let me share our travel experience- We three were seated together and unfortunately almost everything was non functional. From broken seats to NO entertainment system,” Garg wrote in her Instagram post.

“Unfortunately, i forgot to take a picture of the broken seat handle and literally had to protect my toddler from getting hurt as all the wires were coming out of the system. And even after complaining to the crew/ staff multiple times, there was NO action taken. It seems they rebooted the system but the still everything was not working,” she said.

“We were left helpless with 2 kids and had to manage everything on our own. @airindia firstly the pricing of tickets is already too high and on top of it, instead of making the journey smooth for the passengers you made it inconvenient for the parents travelling with the kids especially,” she added.

“Why are people ranting for no reason in comments if you don’t know aviation please shut..air India literally has ordered 500 new aircrafts and all the old aircrafts that was given from government of India to tata will get refurbished with new interiors in 2025…you can’t expect an airline to turnaround overnight,” a user commented.

“Imagine thinking that it is the airlines responsibility to entertain and look after your children on a flight. I wonder how parents ever travelled with children before onboard screen were installed,” said another.

“Air India is cheaper compared to other Private Airlines. These things are bound to happen and this is not the first time you are traveling with your kids you need to be prepared for these situations. Having kids does not give anyone special privileges,” another person wrote.
