India cricketer Virat Kohli finally overcame his century drought in Test cricket as he smashed 186 runs in the ongoing fourth Test against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kohli scored his 28th Test hundred after a wait of 1205 days as his last century came against Bangladesh on November 23, 2019 at Eden Gardens.
Kohli’s ton delighted his fans who were waiting for the former India skipper to come good and show his vintage best. Kohli’s magnificent innings received a lot of attention on social media as fans posted congratulatory tweets. Among them, a witty tweet by the official account of Delhi Police is going viral.
Delhi Police requested their Gujarat counterparts not to book “our Delhi boy” Virat Kohli for “voluntarily causing hurt to the guests”. “Bura na maano Kohli hai (Don’t feel offended, Kohli is there),” reads a text on the photo of Virat Kohli that they tweeted.
Shared Sunday, the tweet has received more than 14,000 likes. “Well said @DelhiPolice,” commented a user. “Tweet of the day,” said another.
“Considering the nature of hurt, it seems to be falling under section 95 of IPC. So, I don’t think @imVkohli needs to be booked,” Parth Parmar, a policeman who is posted as a deputy superintendent, joked.
“Keen to see what @GujaratPolice responds here,” posted another.
“One of the best tweets I came across recently,” another netizen wrote.
India scored 571 runs in the first innings in reply to Australia’s score of 480. India leads the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.
