Torrential rains deluged Delhi on Thursday, but Jaipur seems to have been hit even harder. Viral videos and photos reveal the chaos that ensued in the city— streets submerged, people stranded, and lives tragically lost. One particularly striking video shared on X captures the roads to Jaipur International Airport and nearby areas drowning in floodwater, painting a grim picture of the city’s plight.

X user Gaurav Kheterpal shared the video, writing, “Thank you @AdaniOnline @jeet_adani1 @gautam_adani for the free open swimming pool facility at @Jaipur_Airport – took just two hours of rain to fill this! Gratitude to @AAI_Official to privatise our airport for such facilities! This is exactly what we pay taxes for!”

In the video, the water has reached up to the terminal barricades. At one point, you can see how deep the waterlogging is, as an autorickshaw has its wheels completely submerged.

From another angle, the video shows the water entering the airport building. The video has garnered over 8,000 views and numerous responses.

On seeing the post, the official handle of the airport responded saying, “Dear Mr Kheterpal, thank you for reaching out. We want to inform you that waterlogging was for a very brief period due to water in surrounding areas. Proactive measures were taken, and situation was back to normal in a minimum time. The attached image is for reference. Team JAI.”

Kheterpal replied to the same and wrote, “Great to see that the situation was quickly resolved, hope it stays that way and keep up the good work!”

Meanwhile, reacting to the video, one user said, “paying heavy taxes and such facilities we are availing.” Another user wrote, “If this isn’t shameful…Where’s the shame in investing in boats officially for the monsoons in India. Changing times call for changing measures..”
