A video of a female teacher dancing to Kajra Re with her students has caught the internet’s attention. Shared by a social media user on X, the video shows ‘Happy Birthday Rashami Ma’am’ written on the green board of the classroom.

Dressed in a pink and yellow coloured saree, the teacher can be seen dancing gracefully to the Bunty Aur Babli song, originally performed by Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Standing on the platform, two students cheer her on enthusiastically. One of the male students joins in, bringing a red dupatta and gently placing it on the teacher’s head. The teacher then incorporates the red dupatta into her dance.

Sharing the video on X, the user wrote, “Never imagined we’d see a day where teachers are dancing literally on an item song inside a classroom.”

The video is being widely circulated on social media, triggering a debate among users. While a section of the internet enjoyed the video, others slammed the teacher for dancing to an item number in a classroom. A user wrote, “There was a time when teachers in the school were the moral compass.. role models.. if they’ve become chapris and honda shernis, it is natural that students will follow suit. All nonsense is being normalised.” Another user argued, “You seem to be mentally ill and can’t identify between a dance during a teacher’s birthday celebration and an item song dance!”

“Instagram’s impact. Soon teachers and students will start dating each other,” the third user wrote.

In December last year, a video of a teacher and her students dancing to the viral song, Gulabi Sharara, created a similar buzz on social media.
