A video showing a Swiggy Instamart delivery agent purportedly stealing shoes from outside a flat in Gurugram has gone viral. In the video, the delivery person can be seen making a delivery, stepping away and then returning to pick up the shoes and leaving after hiding them in a towel.
The video was shared by X user Rohit Arora, who said, “Swiggy’s drop and PICK up service. A delivery boy just took my friend’s shoes (@Nike) and they won’t even share his contact.”
The footage shows the delivery person arriving at the apartment with a bag full of items, noticing the shoes, and later taking them while checking for onlookers.
In response to the incident, Swiggy released a statement saying, “Hey Rohit, we expect better from our delivery partners. Do meet us on DM, so we can assist you better.
Users online condemned the actions of the delivery person and advised Rohit to file a complaint. Some suggested that Swiggy should refund the cost of the stolen shoes.
One user even tagged Swiggy, asking, “Bro questioned his life choices before attempting the heist. @SwiggyCares help this man out if you actually care.” Another added, “New fear unlocked. Cost of camera recovered in 1 video.” A third user said, “Swiggy cares is actually useless as always, unless we file a legal complaint they will not disclose anything and i guess they wont even take this as a complaint even for an internal enquiry! Thats how they work! “
