The video prompted several reactions, with a user commenting, “A healthy leopard is dangerous even for a frail or old lion..This leopard is either starving and is malnourished or is injured..Dogesh community holds no chance for 1 on 1 with a leopard.” Another user wrote, “Leopard was probably weak and unhealthy.”

According to a report in NDTV, the stray dog, when the leopard attempted to attack it, did not back down. Instead, it launched a fierce and unexpected counterattack. The report also said that the dog latched onto the leopard and dragged it nearly 300 metres during the intense struggle.

“The leopard couldn’t withstand the dog’s sudden and aggressive assault and eventually managed to break free and escape,” NDTV quoted a resident who witnessed the encounter. Despite the violent tussle, the dog survived, and no injuries to local residents were reported.

According to the report, the authorities confirmed that the leopard fled into nearby fields after freeing itself, and while it appeared injured, forest officials have

yet to determine whether it requires medical care. They assured that no villagers or domestic animals were harmed in the incident.
