Watching how cakes are baked and decorated is always interesting. Now, a video that shows how cakes are mass-produced in a local factory is going viral. The undated clip shows a worker first adding a stack of eggs and flour in a mixer. Once the mix is prepared, he spreads it on rectangular baking pans. These pans are then put inside a brick oven.
When the cake’s base is baked, the baker takes it out and cuts it into a heart shape. This base is then iced, glazed and decorated, before being packed.
This step-by-step baking video was posted online by Twitter user Chirag Barjatya (@chiragbarjatyaa). So far it has gathered over 6,000 likes. While many people found the video fascinating, others pointed to the lack of hygiene in the whole baking process.
Commenting on the video, a Twitter user wrote, “I think there should be some guidelines for bakeries, restaurents on following hygiene. I don’t think i will be able to eat cake after this”. Another person wrote, “Maybe if people started caring about labour rights they might start caring about “hygeine standards”.”
In June, a similar video that went viral documented step-by-step how chocolate-coated ice creams (or frozen desserts) are made in a local manufacturing unit. The copious amount of oil used in making the ice cream sparked a conversation about ice cream vs frozen dessert in the comments section.
