Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu received flak after a video of her allegedly spreading “misinformation” and “misleading” people about liver ‘detox’ went viral on social media. Cryiac Abby Philips, an X user, called out the actor for inviting “random” health “illiterate” to her podcast.
The user shared a clip from the podcast, uploaded recently, wherein the guest can be heard discussing the significance of herbs like dandelion in enhancing liver health. Sharing the clip, the user wrote, “This is Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a film star, misleading and misinforming over 33 million followers on “detoxing the liver.””
Calling the guest “illiterate”, the user said, “The podcast features some random health illiterate “Wellness Coach & Performance Nutritionist” who has absolutely no clue how the human body works and has the most rubbish content on his Instagram handle, including complete nonsense such as herbs to manage autoimmune disorders.”
“I am a liver doctor, a trained and registered hepatologist diagnosing and treating liver disease patients since one decade and this is complete and utter BS,” the user claimed.
Explaining further about dandelion and its usage, the user wrote, “Dandelion, is a vegetable that most people consider a weed. It is sometimes used as a salad green. Dandelion can be used in salad. About 100 g of dandelion provides about 10-15% of your daily potassium requirements, at little to no caloric intake.”
