A blast inside a slow-moving Hyundai i20 car near the Red Fort in Delhi Monday evening killed at least 13 people and left several others injured. As the chaos unfolded, a video capturing the moments before the blast has now emerged.

The viral video shows Delhi’s bustling street, with hundreds of people, while a digital creator shoots a video. The video shows two men talking just seconds before the blast. Soon, a massive blaze emerges in the background, forcing people to escape the scene. “Bhai, bhago (Brother, run),” one of the men says in the video.

As he shouts, while some of those surrounding them run, others seem confused about what was unfolding.

Following the explosion, a high alert was issued across Delhi and several other cities, including Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.

The owner of the car involved in the Red Fort blast allegedly also had links to the Faridabad terror module, where the police seized a huge cache of explosive material seized Sunday. Early findings by the police suggest ammonium nitrate, fuel oil, and detonators may have been used in the blast near the Red Fort.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom issued a travel advisory against all travel to parts of India. The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) stated, “There has been an explosion at the Red Fort (Lal Qila) Metro Station, New Delhi. If you’re in the immediate area, follow the advice of the local authorities and monitor local media.”

The advisory restricted all travel within 10 kilometres of the India-Pakistan border, informing that the Wagah-Attari border crossing is closed. The FCDO also directed against all travel to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (including Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, the city of Srinagar, and the Jammu-Srinagar national highway).
