PM Modi lauds X user for sharing his AI-generated dance video: ‘Truly a delight’

Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, numerous spoof videos on prominent political leaders are doing the rounds online. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded an X user for sharing his AI-generated video that showed him dancing.

Shared by an X handle @Atheist_Krishna, the AI-generated meme video shows PM Modi dressed in an orange waistcoat, entering the stage, and dancing to the tunes as the crowd cheers for him. “Posting this video cuz I know that ‘THE DICTATOR’ is not going to get me arrested for this,” the user wrote.

PM Modi reshared the video and wrote, “Like all of you, I also enjoyed seeing myself dance. Such creativity in peak poll season is truly a delight! #PollHumour.”

PM Modi’s response to the AI-generated video accumulated several reactions with one saying, “Your ability to tolerate endless criticism, memes and even abuses without getting offended is truly inspirational, sir.” Another user commented, “Now the public should decide, who is actually a dictator!”

“Modiji u look like a rockstar haa. They made u look too cute,” the third user reacted.

On Monday, Kolkata Police directed a social media user, who shared a spoof video on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, to disclose their identity.

“You are directed to immediately disclose your identity including name and residence. If the information sought is not revealed, you shall be liable for legal action u/s 42 CrPC. Cyber PS, Lalbazar, Kolkata, Ph no: 033-22143000,” the Kolkata Police post on X read.

Reacting to Kolkata police’s demand to remove the spoof video, BJP’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote, “Relax @KolkataPolice- You have other more pressing issues on hand, rather than act like Mamata Banerjee’s doormat. For instance, TMC workers are assaulting women across Kolkata for having political views different from the ruling party or worse they have hung obscene posters deriding the Prime Minister across greater Kolkata area… What have you done about them?”

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 began on April 19 and will conclude on June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.
