Residents of Bengaluru, the IT hub, have time and again proved their tech-savvy nature in several ways. Be it an Apple customer sending a delivery executive to a store and getting the issue resolved or an autorickshaw driver returning a woman’s AirPods after she left in the three-wheeler, ‘Peak Bengaluru’ moments have amazed netizens.
A man in the city, named Rohit Ghumare, recently lost his wallet at a cafe and surprisingly got it back intact the next day. Despite not having his contact number, staff members at the cafe managed to get in touch with him – and of course, tech has a role in this too – after a Google search led to his contact number. Fortunately, Ghumare soon got his wallet, which had important documents and his credit/debit cards.
Taking to Twitter, Ghumare shared his experience. “Bangalore is something else. I lost my wallet filled with my credit/debit cards as well as important documents. I panicked, Surprisingly I received one call from cafe I went yesterday. How they found my number? They googled my name I guess this is @peakbengaluru moment,” he wrote.
Several netizens were delighted to know that Ghumare got his wallet. A user commented, “Curious to know the cafe name. 🤪 And of course glad you found it, not happens always.” Another user wrote, “Highly likely they didn’t know what it was that they found and didn’t know what to make of it. Hardly anyone carries wallets in Bangalore. It’s UPI all the way.” A third user wrote, “Do not do this in some other city and expect the same.”
