Parathas cooked in ghee may sound like the most normal thing in the world, but now a video that shows them being cooked in excessive amounts of ghee is getting the ire of foodies.

An Instagram video captioned “Swimming Pool wale Dilkhush Parathe”, shows a roadside vendor using a ton of ghee in the cooking process. However, just before putting the paratha on a plate, the cook separates the extra fat away.

This video was shared on Instagram by a popular food blogging page Sahi hai (@officialsahihai) and it has so far gathered over 1.6 lakh likes since it was posted on April 29.

Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “First bite will feel like heaven…Second bite will take you to heaven”. Another one wrote, “Cholesterol in a plate, looks yummy though.”

This is not the only paratha that went viral because of its unique cooking style. Previously, a giant halwa paratha from Nagpur thrilled foodies online. The famous paratha was two and a half feet by two and a half feet in size. It was made with a 700-gram dough that was then mixed with 100-gram dalda and some salt. A video which showed the chef skilfully kneading the maida dough and spreading it thinly over a wooden rolling board, before lightly frying it in oil for two minutes without breaking it apart amazed netizens.
