Mumbai Police’s social media game is always on point on Twitter and always aces giving a meaningful twist to contemporary memes. However, recently, the social media team of the cops have started treading on a path taking people down memory lane. This time, the cops used a Harry Potter reference to make a point about traffic regulation and Twitterati couldn’t keep calm.
Using one famous J.K. Rowling quote from the world’s most-loved novel series, they talked about road safety while referring to Deathly Hallows. Invoking Kingsley Shacklebolt’s quote from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, they applied creativity on the deathly hallow sign that read, ‘You don’t always need the deathly hallows to evade death’. The sign of the Deathly Hallows represents all three objects symbolically: the Wand, the Stone, and the Cloak, and the cop used it closely referencing road signs.
While the original quote in the book by Shacklebolt reads, “We’re all human, aren’t we? Every human life is worth the same, and worth saving”, Mumbai Police added, “And you don’t always need the deathly hallows for it, just follow simple rules to ‘charm’ your way to safety”.

In the world of Hogwarts, it’s well known that Deathly Hallows overcome death by all means. The police force tweaked it to remind all that in this world, simple rules are enough to evade deaths.
The reference left Potterheads flipping and overwhelmed, and many even tagged Rowling in excitement. While some were convinced that the social media manager is a Potter buff, others were impressed how beautifully they used it in this context.
