E-commerce platforms have one of the biggest sales during this time of the year. However, many people complain about receiving wrong or defective products when they order from such e-commerce websites.

A man took to X, formerly Twitter, to share his grievance as he claimed to have received a wrong product in place of a Sony television that he ordered. The user named Aryan (@thetrueindian) said he ordered a Sony television from Flipkart on October 7 and it was delivered on October 10. The installation person came the next day and unboxed the TV himself, he said.

However, they were shocked to find that instead of a Sony TV, the box contained a Thomson TV and it did not have any accessories like a stand or remote.

He said he raised the issue instantly with Flipkart customer care and they asked him to upload images of the TV. He did as instructed and said even after two weeks, his return request hasn’t been processed yet. He claimed that they extended his resolution date as well. He said he purchased the TV hoping to watch the ICC World Cup 2023 on the big screen, however, this issue has resulted in a lot of stress.

In reply to the comments, he said the delivery was completed by logistics company Delhivery. He said open box delivery was not provided while the seller is Omnitechretail.

Flipkart Support replied to the thread and wrote, “We apologize for the issue you are facing with the recent order. Please share the order details with us through a private chat by clicking on below link as personal details shared here will be public.”

“File a complaint with consumer court and if you have paid with credit card, raise a charge back,” a user commented. “If purchased using credit card, just block the payment and ask them to dispute and give the bank a detailed email and they’ll issue provisional credit and take it up with Flipkart. The same happened with me Flipkart didn’t replace nor refund, so I used this method,” said another.

“Flipkart is the worst when it comes to electronic items, especially screens. I bought a monitor some time ago. Thankfully, it was in an open box delivery, so I asked the delivery boy if I could check it. I found the screen was already broken, yet he insisted that I accept the delivery. I refused and saved myself from a potential problem,” another person wrote.
