Can you imagine the odds that a foreigner you run into in New York not only knows Hindi but also speaks it fluently as he had stayed in Mumbai for five years? Sanjay Meriya, a DJ and a music producer, shared a video on his Instagram account (@thespindoclive) which shows him meeting a man in New York named Andre who spoke to him in Hindi.

On being asked if he liked Mumbai more or New York, Andre said, “Mumbai achha tha, ekdum first class tha. Udher (Mumbai) mein toh raja tha. Yaha pe chaprasi, dhobi (Living in Mumbai was better as there I lived like a king but here it is a struggle as one has to do everything on his own).” Andre’s honest answer left Meriya in splits.

“Met a random New Yorker who happened to live in india for 5 year ! He spoke amazing hindi and he described his life in Mumbai like king size and in New York like full of hustle!” says the caption of the video.
