‘He deserves to be beaten up’: Man exits moving SUV, climbs on bonnet to make Reel video in UP; reckless stunt video goes viral

A video of a man performing a reckless stunt on the Hapur-Highway in Uttar Pradesh has triggered a backlash on social media. The video was widely circulated, prompting an immediate response from Hapur police.

The viral clip shows the man leaving the steering wheel, exiting the SUV, and posing on the bonnet as the vehicle continues to move. After standing on the bonnet, he goes on to climb on the top of the car, while being filmed from a distance. Sharing the video, Rajesh Sahu, a journalist, wrote on X, “The UP Traffic Police’s earnings of around 50 thousand rupees are fixed. That’s fine too. Besides risking their own lives, they are also putting others in danger. Cancel their licenses too, then there will be improvement.”

The official handle of Hapur police shared details for the incident, informing that the man was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act, with a fine of Rs 28,500 imposed.

“In Hapur district, a video of a person performing stunts and making reels by climbing onto the bonnet of a moving Scorpio car while leaving the steering unattended went viral on social media. The @hapurtrafficpol
took immediate notice and took action under the MV Act, issuing a fine of Rs. 28,500/- for the said car.
Note:- Hapur Police appeals to the residents of the district not to engage in any such act that is against the law,” the post read.

The video promoted a flurry of reactions, with several users slamming the man for his irresponsible conduct. “Suspend his license as well,” a user wrote. “Not just fine, he should be beaten up for performing such stunts,” another user commented.

“Only a challan of 25,500 has been issued, whereas 53,500 was issued for the bike—this discrimination is between the rich and the poor,” a third user said.
