Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Arun Bothra shared a sweet incident that happened with him on an IndiGo flight recently. Bothra took to X, formerly Twitter, to share how a flight attendant arranged some ‘vrat’-friendly snacks for him when she got to know that he is keeping a fast during the Navratri.
The 1996-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre thanked the flight attendant named Purvi for her generosity. He said he refused snacks in the flight as he was keeping a fast.
When Purvi got to know the reason, she returned with some snacks like sabudana chips, til chikki that are permitted in fast. Not only that, she even refused to charge him and she said she is also fasting. She also handed him a note that said, “It was a pleasure having you onboard with us today. May Navdurga bless you with abundance.”
Touched by the sweet gesture, Bothra shared a photo of the snacks and the note and said, “Mother Divine takes care of you in different forms. Today she came as Purvi, an @IndiGo6E crew member. As I didn’t take snacks due to #Navratri fasting she returned with Sabudana Chips, Til Chikki & tea. When I asked how much to pay, she said – ‘No money sir. I am also fasting.’”
“Purvi’s act exemplifies the spirit of care and understanding we strive to embody. Your words are greatly appreciated and will be shared with Purvi. We look forward to serving you again on your future journeys. Best wishes during Navratri,” IndiGo commented on the post.
The kind gesture by the flight attendant has won the praise of netizens. “Same thing I saw recently while flying Nagpur Delhi couple of days back,” a user commented. “Wow! Humanity is within a person and not an institution….. Institution can just wish that it has employees who are compassionate, kind and most important humans first,” another person wrote.
