In a display of commitment to wildlife conservation, forest officials embarked on a difficult mission to save a rhinoceros calf that got trapped in a swamp. Weighing some 700 kilograms, the calf, after being rescued from the swamp, was carefully placed on a wooden plank and carried to safety on the rescuers’ shoulders.

Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan shared a video that showed a glimpse of the heroic effort. He wrote, “This is a video from August. When a rhino calf weighing 600-700 kgs was rescued by lifting on shoulders by our teams. Sometimes this is what conservation looks like.”

The video shows the team’s perseverance and teamwork as they navigate difficult terrain, throwing light on the physical and emotional challenges of protecting wildlife.
