In a moment captured on video, a mother elephant appeared to express gratitude to a man who gave water to her thirsty calf — a gesture that is melting hearts online.
The video opens with a mother and its calf walking along a road. As they notice a man watering plants with a hose, the calf approaches him, seemingly asking for some water. The man gently directs the water pipe towards the calf, allowing it to drink. Seeing the man’s kind gesture, the mother elephant raises her trunk high in the air, as if to thank the man.
The clip includes an in-text message that reads: “Love Without Language: ‘Silent Thank You’ Mother elephant thanks man after he gives water to her thirsty baby.”
Shared by Instagram page @thebulletinx, the heartwarming footage quickly went viral, racking up over two million views and 168K likes. Social media users were deeply moved by the elephants’ gentle behaviour.
One user wrote, “Guy is blessed for lifetime.” Another commented, “So cute little baby, yes… ask for whatever you want, love.” A third user said, “Idk man, I just feel a lot of times… that elephants are very pure by their Nature… by far one of the most innocent species I’ve ever seen.”
However, not everyone saw the moment through a purely emotional lens. One commenter pointed out, “The mother is being ridden… This is a manufactured problem. Humans causing problems then ‘saving’ the victims is a wild take.”
