British rock band Coldplay is currently pulling off their second leg of the “Music of the Spheres” World Tour. The band performed at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in a two-day concert, which was also streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar. Among thousands of concertgoers was cricketer Jasprit Bumrah who attended the event on Sunday, the video of which is now making waves on social media.
Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, dedicated a special song to the Indian cricket team’s fast bowler, leaving him blushing. As the camera panned to Bumrah, the singer dedicated an amusing song to him. The crowd, thrilled by the moment, erupted into cheers, giving the bowler and the band a roaring ovation.
“Jasprit, Jasprit, wellll… Jasprit my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket, we do not enjoy watching you destroy England with wicket, after wicket, after wicket,” Chris sang.

The video captivated several cricket enthusiasts, garnering over 66,00,00 views. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Jasprit bumrah what fans base at Coldplay.” Another user commented, “Great to see a bowler from India getting well deserved accolades and hope to see him destroy all record and win all ICC tournaments.”
“Great honor for both as they both are respecting each other well,” a third user reacted.
Chris Martin expressed his admiration for Bumrah at Coldplay’s first concert in Mumbai last week. The announcement surprised many and was followed by an amusing segment in the next concert. Chris paused the show and said, “I’m so sorry, but I have to read a letter from Jasprit Bumrah’s lawyer. I have to read it because otherwise, we could be sent to prison and wouldn’t be able to perform in Ahmedabad.”
“Dear Coldplay, in your first and second shows, you mentioned Jasprit Bumrah without permission. It’s illegal. You can’t mention Jasprit. Who do you think you are, you stupid Englishman? It also says, Mr Jasprit Bumrah is the greatest bowler in the whole wide world, and you are just a silly singer,” the letter read.
